Teacher Scholarships
Shoreline PTA Council supports the continuing education of our district teachers for workshops or classes that benefit Shoreline students. Through the generous donations from local units a limited number of scholarships are awarded each year. Funds are for workshop/ class fees only and do not cover transportation, housing or food.
Applications for the 2009-10 must be turned in by February 1, 2010.

Student Scholarships*
Each year Shoreline PTA Council awards 2 seniors from each High School a scholarship towards higher education. Through donations from local units and interest from a restricted CD the accumulated amount is divided among the 4 winners to the maximum of $500.00 per scholarship.
Applications for the 2009-2010 school year must be turned in by June 1, 2010. (See Student Scholarship Application)
* Donations are accepted towards Teacher and Student scholarships.
Checks should be made out to: Shoreline PTA Council, note “Teacher Scholarship” or “Student Scholarship,” and mailed to 18560 1st Ave NE, Shoreline, WA 98155.
Council Golden Acorn Award
Each year the Shoreline PTA Council presents a Golden Acorn Award to a volunteer(s) in recognition of his/her dedication and service to children and youth district wide. This award is presented at the annual Council recognition event. Nominations for 2010 award are due by March 1, 2010.

Council Business of the Year
Shoreline PTA Council recognizes businesses that have contributed product, funds or services to support PTA events and programs throughout the District. This award is presented at the annual Council recognition event. Nominations for 2010 award are due by March 1, 2010. (See Council Outstanding Business Nomination Form)
Council Outstanding Educator
The Outstanding Educator Award is offered by the Shoreline PTA Council to recognize individuals who go beyond the normal expectations of their jobs to make the learning environment fun, beneficial, and challenging. Nominations for 2010 award are due by March 1, 2010. (See Council Outstanding Educator Nomination Form)
Council Outstanding Service Award
The Outstanding Service Award is presented to a volunteer who works for children and youth beyond the bounds of a job, PTA, or a specific school community. This honor goes to a person who has shown concern for all children and who has volunteered his/her time to help them achieve their potential. This award can be presented only by the Washington State PTA and its regions and councils. Nominations for 2010 award are due by March 1, 2010. (See Council Outstanding Service Nomination Form)
Recognition Event – April 26, 2010
Each year the Shoreline PTA Council hosts a recognition event to honor the Golden Acorn and Outstanding Educator award recipients from the local units. Council award winners are announced and recognized as part of the evening’s celebration of excellence.
