Holiday Baskets
Holiday Baskets
Mission: “Holiday Baskets” Food, Toys, & Teen Gifts is the combined efforts of Shoreline PTA Council, the Shoreline Fire Department, and Hopelink to provide holiday food and gift support to Shoreline School District families in circumstances that make it challenging to provide either for their children.
o The Food drive is the collaborative effort of Shoreline School District PTAs to provide holiday meal basics and winter break food support. See Food Drive Flyer.
o The Toy drive is a partnership with the Shoreline Fire Department and Hopelink to provide parents at least one quality toy for each child.
o The Teen Gift drive is the collaborative effort of Shoreline School District PTAs and Hopelink to provide parents at least one quality gift per teen for the holidays. Monetary donations are greatly appreciated. See Teen Gifts Flyer.
This year we are focusing on four areas:
1. Provide holiday meal basics to each of the 500+ families. To do so we are assigning each school an item from the “basket” to provide along with their food donations. An example would be: one school might be assigned “stuffing” and would set the goal of 250+ boxes/bags of stuffing along with donations of canned & packaged food items. See School Assignments list.
2. Increase awareness of the need for quality winter break food support. Items for: breakfast, lunch, or snacks along with food basics. See our Most Wanted List for the top ten items we would love to provide each family.
3. Emphasis on Teen Gifts collection. We are asking that you encourage participation in the teen gift portion of your drive through $10 gift cards from retailers such as Target, Fred Meyer, Old Navy, Sports Authority, Best Buy, etc
4. Work with local units to find creative ways to increase awareness of Shoreline Fire Department Toy Drive. Our partnership with the Shoreline Fire Department goes back over 25 years. Providing toys for our Shoreline School District parents to give has been a vital part of this event. We hope each school will develop fun ways to increase awareness of this need to their school families.
Shoreline PTA Council is a 501(c)3 non-profit corporation.
Your donations are tax deductible the fullest extent allowed by law.
December 5th - 16th
